10 months and 38 months!

It's a little late on this post seeing as we have almost reached another month, but seeing as I started it a while back, I figured I might as well finish it.

Matching Lightening McQueen Pajamas

Just a little bit about Mallory, the attitude has definitely kicked in.  For example, I will ask her to do something and her response will be, "I'm not doing that."  Oh really???? This has been really trying for me.  We are working on how we can respond and how we do things the first time we are asked.  In the short, we have a long way to go, especially because when we even look at her with disappointment she runs off to the other room. If we put her in time out, we get a nice little tantrum. If you click on this link, you can see a nice example. You can't actually see her because I didn't want her to see me recording, but you can definitely hear her.  I think her goal is to see how load she can actually get.  She actually coughs most times because she is straining her voice so hard.

Mallory's Tantrum

The other night we were out to dinner and Mallory decided to take a crayon and draw on my face.  I politely said, "Mallory, we don't draw on faces.  Where do we draw with our crayons?"  What do you think her response was?  It wasn't what I was expecting, it was, "Um, I didn't really know so I drew on your face." Eric and I did all we could not to crack a smile.

Then we got home that night and I asked her if she was going to take a bath or a shower.  She said, "I'm not taking anything because I'm tired."  Where does this attitude come from?

The other morning we were walking downstairs and I asked her to carry a pair of socks and as we were walking down she said, "Ugh, your killing my back."  Oh yes, that pair of socks is really hurting your back.

I can't remember if I already posted this, but here is a little video of Mallory playing the Wii. She is actually pretty good at it if she doesn't catch you watching her.

Mallory playing "Just Dance"

As for Jared, he has this new laugh.  I can't really describe and I'm having a hard time getting it on video, but here a few attempts.  I couldn't remember if all babies laugh like this but I have come to the conclusion that they don't.  He does it randomly too, but mostly when he wants something like food or water. You really can't help but laugh when you hear him do it.

Jared's New Laugh

Jared is also talking up a storm.  He says a few words like bottle, ball, and dad (in baby terms, baba, ba, and dada).  I thought they were just a fluke, but it's pretty consistent.
DaDa

Stranger anxiety is at its peak.  Jared won't go to anyone if I'm in the room.  What can I say, I'm the favorite -and yes, I will gloat about it now because I know it wont always be this way.

Jared is also crawling up a storm.  He has a funny little crawl.  I say funny because he uses one knee on the ground and pushes himself forward with his foot of the other leg.  He is also pulling himself up on everything, which caused him to get his first fat lip.  I cried just as much as he did when it happened.  I was late for work and felt so bad that I did not take a picture.  Let's just say his day went fine and it's all better now, but boy did I feel bad.  I don't remember stuff like this happening with Mallory.  I feel like she was more cautious -or maybe I was more cautious. Who knows.  I all I know is that I do not do well with injuries....

Last, Jared's latest thing is biting my shoulder. Randomly, in attempt to get a picture of the two of us, we ended up with a biting picture.  He does it and I say, "Please don't bite Mommy." He just smiles and shakes his head no - which he does anytime he hears the word no or don't.

The MJ Experience

When I talked about celebrating Eric's graduation at our house, that consisted of 3 days straight of dancing to MJ on the Wii.  After holding Jared through Eric's graduation, my arms were extremely sore and this just added to it.

Grandpa got the girls balloons.

My dad was so proud of his high score.  It was beat about 30 seconds later, but none the less, he got a picture to prove at one point he was the best.

Click on this link to see a video of the fun.

Mother's Day

I love love love the sappy Mother's Day gifts the kids send home.  I am a complete dork, but I get all weepy every time.

This is Jared's little footprint.

Mallory's poem.

And here are the mother's day baskets I made for Patty, Valerie, and Lisa. We don't typically get to see the Mom's on mothers day, but since they were all here for Eric's graduation we got to have a nice breakfast. Eric got me a day at the spa....hopefully I can find some time to use it soon!  Thanks babe!

Despite the Odds, We did It!

Yes, I said we did it.  Although it was Eric's graduation from law school, this was in no way just an accomplishment for him.  During orientation week, they gave us statistics something like 75% of couples who are together starting law school are not together when they end, and it's higher if you have kids.  So we beat the odds!

Here he comes.

This guy was hardcore.  He was set up with his camera and practicing for 30 minutes.  It was actually sad because he missed the picture because he forgot to take the lens cap off.

I thought this picture was hilarious. It looks like Eric is standing and everyone else is sitting...nope, he was just that much taller.

Getting hooded.

Hooray!

Grandpa Foster and MiMi

Brothers!

Parents!

Sister, niece, and brother in law.

How cute are these guys?

Thank you for all your support, we could not have done this without you!

Afterwards they had a nice breakfast at the law school.  Then we headed back to our house to celebrate being done with law school.
Now 2 months of studying for the BAR and we are hopefully done done!

Did you know...

in the state of Ohio, if you are the vehicle backing up, regardless of whether or not the other person/vehicle is doing something illegal, you are at fault if you hit someone? This is what the insurance company told me anyway.

So I was in the spot where the yellow car was, backing out to the left.  There was a car to the left, so I was waiting, took my foot off the break and was at a rolling speed backing out.  Meanwhile, see the car with the headlights...yeah, another car came in from that direction, but was driving on the side with the yellow car.  Now I didn't even notice she was driving on the wrong side of the road until the following week - after I was explaining it someone and realized it.

Like I said, I was not hitting the gas, had just taken my foot off the break, so when I backed into the lady, it sounded like I ran over a pop can.  The best part was, I got out of the car and the first thing she said was, "don't worry, I won't go after you for medical."  Really??? I would sure hope not - I could have walked into your car faster.  The second comment was, "Don't worry, you wont go to jail."  Um, OK...why would I??? Still confused why by that comment.  The last, she was wearing a skirt and the sun had gone down so it was chilly, but she was a bit shaky.  I'm pretty sure the shaking was from being cold. All it all it was a weird experience. However, because of the angle, my left rear bumper scraped across her front left headlight.  Because of how it hit my car, the whole bumper has to be replaced, so unfortunately I had to file a claim with the insurance.  Plus, seeing as the other vehicle was a Cadillac, I figured just to paint the scratch on their car would be more than my deductible.  Oh, and don't worry, she can go get her car fixed anytime because she just got laid off. You have to love unexpected expenses, oh happy days!@!

The Goose

I looked outside my window at work and saw this goose just hanging out.

20 minutes later it was still there, just hanging out while it was down pouring.  We were wondering if it thought it was in a lake without having to move.

Happy Easter!

The Easter bunny did come to our house. Funny thing is, I woke up and told Mallory we should go see if the Easter bunny came.  She did not want to go downstairs because she thought I meant the Easter bunny was going to be in our house and that she was going to have to give him a hug.

After the girls found the eggs.  We made sugar cookies. The dough didn't quite turn out,  so we had to push the dough into the cookie cutter.  They still tasted pretty darn good.

Then we had a little tea party.

Took a stroll to the park.

Had to use an umbrella even though it wasn't raining.

Afterwards, we headed over to the Froehlich's for a nice Easter dinner and another egg hunt.  The kids had a blast and we were all exhausted that night.  Eric was in finals, so he had to bail on the activities a little early, but all in all we had a great Easter.  Thanks everyone!

The girls wanted to try on their dresses for Auntie Laura's wedding.  How cute are they?  And how awful is teh quality of the picture?

The Easter Egg Hunt

I thought it would be neat to take Mallory to the local Easter egg hunt.  The ground was actually flooded from all the rain so they moved it to a church.  I was expecting them to actually hide the eggs, but I guess they just tape off some areas, fill a bunch of eggs with jelly beans and a few with prize numbers in them, blow the whistle, and off the kids go to fill their baskets.  They do it by age group so Mallory didn't have much competition.  I say competition like it's a big competitive event, but in all reality, there are plenty of eggs and the parents stand outside the tape and direct their children to the big eggs that have the prize numbers.  I thought it would be funny to get really intense and "coach" from the sidelines - tell her take the others out - but I wasn't really feeling the humor from the other families.

Jared enjoyed a nice nap while Mallory "hunted."

Mallory and Auntie Lisa.  Natalie was taking a nap so she couldn't make it.

So many parents commented on how I had such a great idea bringing a big bag for her to hunt with...umm..I didn't think of this great idea, in fact, I felt like the idiot that showed up to an egg hunt without an Easter basket, this bag was the only thing I had in the car.

There were not very many kids in her age group - most of the kids got bored before all the eggs were picked up.  On a side note, we thought we got rid off all these jelly bean filled eggs, but a few nights later, Eric was up with Jared in the middle of the night (which means we try and lay on the couch while he plays on the floor) and the next morning we woke up to some discolored carpet.  Turns out, Jared got a jelly bean and drooled it all over the carpet. No wonder he was being so content playing on the floor at 3am...

Easter Eve

We had lots of activities planned for Easter. I don't think words are needed.

I'm pretty sure they ate 4 eggs each when all was said an done. Good thing the Easter bunny hides plastic eggs.
